Why consistent settings matter for faceless channels
Viewers subscribe to a format: the same pacing, look and narrator. When you produce several videos a week, or several people work on the channel, saved channel settings keep that format consistent without anyone re-doing them for each video.
What a channel's configuration stores
| Part | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Background music | Saved music files, looping and volume |
| Captions | Subtitles on or off, font, colour, outline size and colour, bold, with a live preview |
| Look and motion | Overlay, effect, sequence transitions and crossfade duration |
| Images | How long each image stays on screen, and the background loop mode |
| Output | Resolution: 1080p or 1440p (MP4) |
| Notes | Free-text notes for you or your team |
Each channel in your account has its own configuration, so you can run several channels with different looks.
JSON profiles for advanced control
The Profile Generator in the dashboard creates a JSON profile, optionally linked to a channel, that describes how your scripts should be structured. Edit it in the JSON editor, keep versions, and reuse it across videos.
JSON profiles drive the V4 and V4-Mini script models, for series and courses where you want exact control over structure. See the script generator.
Tips
- One configuration per channel, not per video.
- Change one thing at a time (e.g. caption style or image duration), then compare retention in YouTube Studio over a few uploads.
- Pair it with team access: VAs produce with your saved settings, so their videos match yours. See team access.
