What is a YouTube AI image generator? It's a tool that creates the still images shown inside a video (scene illustrations, B-roll, simple graphics) from a text description or a script. Faceless channels use it to cover narration without filming or buying stock footage. Thumbnails, banners and profile pictures are separate jobs, with their own sizes and rules.

What TubeChef generates

  • Scene images that follow your script's narrative, timed to the narration.
  • B-roll stills: supporting images that keep something on screen while the voiceover runs.
  • Standalone images: generate individual images from a prompt in the dashboard's image generator.

TubeChef doesn't have a thumbnail generator.

Visual styles

Pick one style for the whole video, or leave it on Auto-detect and TubeChef chooses one from the script. The current styles are:

Cartoon · Watercolor · Anime · Vector / Flat Design · Oil Painting · Pencil Sketch · Pixel Art · 3D Render / CGI · Comic Book

The list can change as styles are added. Tip: keep one style for a whole video, and ideally for a whole channel. Switching styles mid-video reads as inconsistent.

How it works

  1. Write or generate the script in the script generator.
  2. Turn on Auto Image Generation when you generate the voiceover, and choose a style. Images are generated to match what the narration is saying at each point.
  3. Review and replace. Swap any image for one you upload.
  4. Render the video locally with the TubeChef CLI or desktop app, one at a time or in bulk (bulk rendering). Rendering is VIP and Lifetime only.

Image generation runs on your own fal.ai API key, which you add in the dashboard. Without a key, you can still upload your own images.

Can I use AI images in YouTube videos?

Short answer: yes. YouTube asks you to disclose AI content only when it looks realistic and could mislead viewers.

According to YouTube Help ("Disclosing use of GenAI content", read October 2026):

  • Disclosure is required for realistic AI content, for example content that "generates a realistic scene that didn't actually occur", alters footage of a real event or place, or makes a real person appear to say or do something they didn't.
  • Disclosure is not required for content that is clearly not realistic, or for production help such as using AI to create a "thumbnail, title, or infographic".
  • You disclose in YouTube Studio during upload: under Attributes → "AI use", choose Yes or No.
  • YouTube says disclosing AI content alone won't limit a video's audience or its eligibility to earn money. Creators who consistently fail to disclose may face labels applied for them, content removal or suspension from the YouTube Partner Program.

Practical rule: if an image could pass for a real photo of a real event, place or person, disclose it. Cartoon, watercolor, sketch and other clearly stylised images usually don't need it. Policies change, so check YouTube Help before you rely on this.

Tips for better in-video images

  • One image per idea, not per sentence. Change the image when the narration moves to a new point.
  • Avoid real people and brands in generated images, for disclosure reasons and for likeness and trademark risk.
  • Check for AI artefacts (hands, text, logos) before rendering, and replace anything that looks wrong.
  • Upload your own charts, screenshots or footage where accuracy matters.
